This booklet contains  verses and notes about the “Kingdom of God.” The Bible tells us of a Kingdom – the “Kingdom of Heaven” and the “Kingdom of God” and His Christ. The expressions “Kingdom of Heaven” and “Kingdom of God” are synonymous in many ways. Also, know that this Kingdom is primarily spiritual, “not of this world” (John 18:36), and is centered in heaven above where Christ is right now “ruling” and “reigning” (Colossians 3:1).

Unless one has been “born again” in accordance with the instructions given in New Testament Scripture, one cannot see (discern, understand, enter into, or partake of) this Kingdom (John 3:3). Know that Christ’s kingdom is not an earthly, political, militant kingdom, but one of love, peace, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, purity, holiness, and power above.

Scripture indicates that Christ would receive His kingdom (and thereby begin His rule and reign) after He ascended to the Father (Daniel 2:44, 7:13-14). This He did from the Mount of Olives forty days after He was resurrected from death (Acts 1:9-11). At His ascension, Jesus was seated at the right hand of God in heaven, “When He [God] raised Him [Jesus] from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come” (Ephesians 1:20-21). Yes, Jesus is “ruling” and “reigning” right now this very day in His Kingdom; and “born again” saints also participate in Him in this rule (via sharing the gospel, not through political actions over men).

Lastly, the “Kingdom of Heaven” is to endure for eternity (Psalm 145:13, 2 Peter 1:11), so we are not to look for yet another kingdom still to come, and it will be fully manifest when all things are made new as we find our eternal home in the heavenly “New Jerusalem” (Revelation 21).

Please keep in mind that the photos aren’t necessarily meant to be illustrative of the particular verses but to serve more as an inspirational reminder of the natural wonder and beauty of God’s creation, especially for those who are unable to visit such places due to circumstances.

I hope you like these verses about the glorious and victorious “Kingdom of God” and His Christ Jesus. – R. John Anderson.
